The MX2000 line is the newest addition to the MX Series 3D Universal Edge Router portfolio offering the highest capacity, highest performance, and highest density, single-chassis Edge Routing platforms available today.

Two MX2000 platforms are available:

The MX2020 offers 34.4Tbps of throughput today and will scale to 80Tbps in the future.
The MX2010 offers 17.2Tbps of throughput today and will scale to 40Tbps in the future.
The MX2000 line supports high-density 10GE, 40GE and 100GE interfaces as well as legacy SONET/SDH, ATM and PDH connectivity, and also supports sophisticated timing and virtualization capabilities.

The MX2020 and MX2010 shares routing/control and switching components, port, service and application concentrators, and a resilient, fully redundant architecture with all the chassis-based Universal Edge Routers, providing an investment protecting upgrade path for existing MX Series customers as well as a consistent operations and service environment across the MX Series portfolio.
